About Me
Fan Z Pet Nutritional Consultant
My Story
In December 2023, I adopted a four-week-old tuxedo kitten and named her Shiro. She was gentle, calm, and full of life. By the time she was five months old, her health started to decline. She began gaining weight and developed persistent digestive problems, including frequent diarrhea. I tried various high-quality dry and wet foods, hoping to support her digestion, but nothing seemed to help.
I took Shiro to several veterinary visits. Her bloodwork always came back normal, but her condition kept getting worse. She developed a large swelling at the base of her tail about the size of an egg and showed clear signs of discomfort, especially after urinating. She would cry out in pain, and I felt completely helpless watching her suffer. During that period, I started researching thoroughly and questioning whether her diet might be affecting her condition. That experience prompted me to make an important choice to pursue professional training in pet nutrition. I enrolled in a Clinical Pet Nutrition program to learn more about supporting her health.
As I advanced in my studies, I switched Shiro from store-bought food to a well-balanced, homemade diet. The differences were significant. She slowly reached a healthier weight, her digestion got better, and over time, her symptoms disappeared. After nearly two years of discomfort, she became lively, playful, and truly flourishing again. Through my practicum and hands-on experience, I also began to notice a broader pattern: many pets are overweight, rely heavily on processed foods, or develop imbalanced feeding habits. This journey shaped my belief that every pet deserves caring, individualized nutrition. Our pets give us so much, and supporting their health through proper nutrition is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for them. It is genuinely an honor to assist other pet parents in developing balanced, practical nutrition plans that support their pets’ long-term health and well-being.
